  8. If it is one of those two, I vote for Sora. Looked at my pictures of Sora's and the head/bill looks possible. I have never seen a Yellow Rail, but the book makes its bill look shorter.

  9. Probably a dark 1st winter kumlieni, but I'm not sure that a kumlieni x thayeri intergrade can get ruled out here. Iceland Gull, nonetheless (well at least with current taxonomy).

  15. Glaucous-winged would be incredible in Ontario, but this is an Iceland Gull, very fine bill helps rule out Glaucous.

  18. Yep, short-billed. See how the buffy colour extends all the way up those feathers? Among other things, the buffy colour would be more limited to the tips in long-billed.

  19. Bumps are generally just a way to bring your post back to the top so that it gets more attention. If someone notices that a post has gone unanswered but don't feel qualified to provide an ID, they will sometimes make a comment, and "bump" is often the comment used.
