  1. Last year it took a while before I was able to get a nice photo of an Orchard Oriole, but this spring I've been able to get some nice shots early.   3. Yeah, a Veery wouldn't have that dark malar stripe, so I think it's a Hermit Thrush.

  4. Yes, Fish crows are slightly smaller. Yes, Fish and American crows are the only expected ones for your area. No, Ravens are not expected in MS. I wouldn't say dumb but Golden Eagles are just extremely highly unlikely. Could the smaller birds be Brewer's Blackbirds? They will dive bomb any bird that gets close to their nest ...eagles, hawks, ravens, crows, etc. 🙂

  5. Yeah I think it's a goldfinch. Red-winged Blackbirds sound similar but they dont have that two part dee-wee kinda thing.

  8. Some females/juveniles/non-breeding Yellows don't show the red streaks, but I agree, this is not a Yellow.
