Visual lifer, Henslow’s Sparrow! Finally, after having them Tzlick at me tantalizingly close in the grass... Unfortunately it was near noon, so the photo didn’t turn out as well as it could have, but I’m happy regardless. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/35119001111 points

Be careful with @Aveschapines candles, @Seanbirds, with that many candles you don't want the overworked firefighters thinking that there's another wildfire starting up. *ducks for cover*8 points

Blue is actually visible in the photo on the tail. However, with blue colored birds in particular, remember that the color is actually created solely through nanostructures on the bird's feathers, meaning that it is not a pigment and thus very dependent on the way in which the light hits it7 points

Thank you so much everyone! I saw I had a ton of notifications and was afraid people were acting up again LOL! 🎂😄 And yes, besides the risk of setting the volcano on fire, the candles would seriously eat into my birthday budget!6 points

White-throated Swifts have longer tails than this bird, and more angular pointed wings. I agree with Alex, this looks like a Juvi Violet-green Swallow.3 points
