  1. I saw these birds today at the Commerce Road Welands in Essex County, NJ. I'm thinking solitary sandpipers, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I saw these birds this past weekend at the Celery Farm in Bergen County New Jersey. I'm thinking Willow/(Traills) for the first.. not at all sure with the second. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I saw this bird last week at a park in Connecticut. I couldn't get any kind of a side view before it flew away. Can it be identified from this view?
  4. I saw these birds this past Friday at the Edwin Forsythe Wildlife refuge in Galloway, NJ. I think these would be seaside sparrows, but I'm not very familiar with those, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I saw these birds on Friday at the Edwin Forsythe wildlife refuge in Galloway, NJ. I think these are mostly short billed dowitchers, but the bird on the left was a little bigger and plumper. Could that be a long billed dowitcher? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

  7. I saw these birds today at the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Galloway, NJ. I'm pretty sure the first bird is a gull-billed tern. The second one I sound ID using Merlin as a Caspian. I cant tell what differentiates this from a Royal tern that was I had ID'd a few weeks back, so I wanted to confirm. I think the third one is a common tern because its beak seems more reddish than the Forsters terns that were also around... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  16. What about the second bird from the right in the first pic? that bird seems to have a black bill and seems bigger than the forster's..
  17. I saw these birds at the Chincoteague Nature reserve earlier this week. I know I see forsters terns, and least terns, but I'm not sure of the other terns. Are they all royal terns? Is there any other tern here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I saw this bird earlier this week at the nature preserve in Chincoteague, VA. There were willet around and I thought this was one when I took the pic, but it doesn't seem to look like the other willets.. Is here anything else this could be? Any help would be appreciated.
  19. I was able to spend a few days at Chincoteague, and do some birdwatching at the nature preserve.. Unfortunately none of the pics are great, but is this a brown-headed nuthatch? That would be a new one for me if it is.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I need some help.. I would have swore that was a cooper's hawk? Which marking makes it a broad winged hawk?
  21. I saw this bird today at the Hilltop Reservation in Verona New Jersey (Essex County). It sat up high on a tree branch, but I just couldn't get a good, unobstructed angle... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
