  1. I saw these birds today while hiking through a nature preserve in northern New Jersey. Any help confirming these would be greatly appreciated.. Brown Creeper? Chipping sparrow? Eastern peewee?
  2. Thank you all! I was a little confused with the second bird. Is it female, or juvenile?
  3. I saw these birds in Cape May, NJ a few weeks back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  6. I saw these birds in August in North Carolina. I struggle with shorebirds, but I am fairly certain there is a willet, black bellied plover, sanderling, and semi palmated sandpipers, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. I saw this bird a few days back in Cape May, NJ. Is this a snow goose? I have never seen one before, and I didn't think I would see one in NJ, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I saw these birds in the outer banks, NC in August. I always have trouble differentiating greater & lesser yellow legs, but I was hoping with another bird to put the size in perspective, I could confirm that this was a lesser? Can you also help confirm the other bird? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Saw these birds in the Outer Banks this August, hanging out on telephone lines.. These first two pics I believe are purple martin, the last one I can't tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  11. I saw this bird at Pea Island in the Outer Banks of NC, a few weeks back. It was with some white ibis, but I am hoping maybe its a long-billed curlew... That would be a new one for me, so my fingers are crossed. Any help would be greatly appreciated..
  12. I saw this tern at Pea Island on the Outer Banks of NC a few weeks back. There was a birding group out at the time, and the guide identified this as a Caspian Tern. I can't differentiate this from a Royal Tern, but a Caspian would be new for me so I am hopeful... any help would be greatly appreciated.
  13. I saw these birds last week at Pea Island in the Outer Banks of NC. Is this a spotted sandpiper? Any help would be greatly appreciated..
  14. Is it just the angle?, but the tail on the first one looks so much longer that most northern mockingbirds I have seen in the past....
  15. I saw these birds while walking through Pea Island in the Outer Banks @ NC last week. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I'm not sure if there is enough on that second bird to identify.....)

  17. I took a walk through a local nature preserve in Northern New Jersey a few weeks back and took these pics. Any help confirming these ID's would be greatly appreciated.. 1. Indigo bunting 2. Field sparrow? 3. American goldfinch - female? 4. Red-winged blackbird - female 5. I got nothing...
  18. That's what I thought. Can you differentiate from a Caspian tern because of the bill?
  19. That explains my confusion on the coloring! Thank you! I'm curious because I'm trying to get better with terns. is it the beak, cap, body, or wingtips that make you all lean towards Forster's tern? Also, this tern, which I saw in Clearwater Fla in May seems to have black feet? Which type of tern would this be?
  20. I saw these birds in Cape May, NJ at the beginning of June. The beak color of the two birds, and the white patch on the cap are confusing me.... are these both common terns? Any help would be appreciated.
