  1. Is it just the angle?, but the tail on the first one looks so much longer that most northern mockingbirds I have seen in the past....

  4. I took a walk through a local nature preserve in Northern New Jersey a few weeks back and took these pics. Any help confirming these ID's would be greatly appreciated.. 1. Indigo bunting 2. Field sparrow? 3. American goldfinch - female? 4. Red-winged blackbird - female 5. I got nothing...

  6. That explains my confusion on the coloring! Thank you! I'm curious because I'm trying to get better with terns. is it the beak, cap, body, or wingtips that make you all lean towards Forster's tern? Also, this tern, which I saw in Clearwater Fla in May seems to have black feet? Which type of tern would this be?
  7. I saw these birds in Cape May, NJ at the beginning of June. The beak color of the two birds, and the white patch on the cap are confusing me.... are these both common terns? Any help would be appreciated.
