  1. Hi, I saw these birds in Moab, Utah in June. They make me think of flycatchers, but I am not sure if that's right, and if it is, what kind. Any help would be appreciated!
  2. Thank you very much! I am always excited to learn more about ID-ing. And both are new life list birds for me! Yay! 🙂
  3. Hi IKLIand. I have never seen either. May I ask how you can tell? I didn't come close on either id...
  4. I took these pictures in Moab, Utah in June. Any ideas on what kind of hawk and hummingbird they are? Thank you for the help!
  5. I saw this bird in Yolo County (northern California near Sacramento) in the month of October. I think it's a type of warbler? Thanks for your help!
  6. Also, the red-winged blackbird... I have seen tons of those, and I thought of the wings as thicker than the ones on this bird, and it seems like there was a white eyebrow in these? I'm definitely not an expert, just trying to learn...
  7. Thank you! May I ask ... what would you think distinguishes the marsh from rock wren? I'm wanting to learn...
  8. These were all seen in Yolo County (northern California near Sacramento) in the month of June (last year). The two wrens are separate birds, though maybe the same type, I cannot tell. The two pictures of the "bird" are of the same bird with different angles. Any help on these IDs would be greatly appreciated! And I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. Sincerely, Heather
  9. I saw this bird in August at Point Reyes Seashore in California. I think it's a hawk, but I have a lot of trouble telling hawks apart, so if you could help me, I'd appreciate it! Thank you very much! Sincerely, Heather
  10. I saw this bird in mid-October, mid-day time, in the Northern California, Sacramento area. I apologize for the blurry pictures, that is part of why I am struggling to identify it. Any help would be much appreciated.
  11. I saw these birds flying over the shore of the Pacific Ocean in California on October 1 in the late morning. I was at Point Reyes, which is just north of San Francisco. Here are two pictures I was able to get (I apologize for the bad quality - that is part of why I am having trouble identifying them). I was leaning toward white-winged scoter because of the obvious white patches on the wings, but the neck seemed a bit long for that. So I wasn't sure. Thank you for the help!
  12. I saw this bird in Chicago in August 2018. I think it's a warbler but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! These three pics are all the same bird from different angles. Sorry about the bad pic quality.
