Thanks for your input I would have to agree the head doesn't look evenly round and there seems to be a convexity toward the back of the Head like a Lesser's. It really helps to get other's input. I appreciate it.
My neighbor who has birded ecuador extensively says it is a flycatcher either Elaenia or an Empid. Going to leave this up a while longer. "Bill, stance and wingbars all wrong for mockingbird --definitely a flycatcher"
Thank you Liam, a local birder friend who knows gulls bettern than I agrees with you; felt the bill was too small for a Ring Billed he wondered if it could be a Ring-billed/Mew hybrid.
Any help identifying this dark morph hawk seen in December (yesterday) at Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. Don't see any white on chest but appears to have white tail; in fact seems to have clear subterminal wide white band in tail see enclosed photos:
