Shot this bird a Lesser Scaup I believe in Maryland with a ton of other Lesser Scaups. My question is the body is female yet the head looks more male then female. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Can anyone shed some light on this bird. It was shot in Philadelphia with large amounts of Canada Geese, Wood Duck, Mallards, Greylags and some Domestic Mallards. Thanks.

Shot in Maryland where there were both birds. Head looks much less pronounced then a Lesser but I'm no expert. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks everyone for looking at this. Here is another unedited of the same bird showing the underside a bit better. Also a photo of another bird that it was with feeding. Also there were a ton of Ring Billed adults there.
