  1. Couple more photos. A friend suggested a pigeon. Seemed a little big but maybe just my imagination. ?
  2. No clue what this is. Seemed kinda large. Today in southern Nevada. Thanks!
  3. Today at a large park in southern Nevada, mallards and domestic mallards common. I've never seen a domestic that wasn't larger than a regular mallard. This one seemed smaller, and a smaller bill. Thanks!
  4. Today in southern Nevada. Killdeer for scale. ?
  5. Thanks, that's what I thought. Merlin said it was a Swainson's which made me wonder.
  6. Dumb question, since this looks like a blue-wing teal and northern shoveler had a baby. ? Today in Las Vegas. Thanks!
  7. Today in southern Nevada. Is this a minima cackling goose? Very tiny compared to the Canadas. There were 2 other geese, just slightly smaller than Canadian, and one of the two had a thin white collar. Thanks!
  8. Confirm cackling goose? Today in Las Vegas. Thanks!
  9. Having a little trouble telling the two species apart. The bird that is mostly white under the tail is a blue-gray and the one that's mostly black under the tail is a black-tailed? Today in southern Nevada. Thanks!
  10. Mixed in with a lot of ring-bill and California gulls was this gull. Today at a huge lake in southern Nevada. Thanks!
  11. Yesterday at a giant lake in southern Nevada. Merlin says the Herring is an Iceland gull. I think this is the same bird seen here a couple weeks ago that some birders called an Iceland and others called a Herring. Thanks!
  12. Yesterday at a lake in southern Nevada. Want to make sure I'm eBirding correctly. Thanks!
  13. Ah thanks for educating me on "seagull". I had no idea it was a colloquialism. ?
  14. Birding today a barn owl flew over just a few feet above my head, but disappeared before I could get a photo. Later I spotted this bird flying away pretty far that seemed to be it. This is a cemetery in southern Nevada and there are no other white birds. Seagulls are possible but I've never seen one here. Thanks!
  15. Are these greater scaup due to the head shape and white on the wings extending to the wingtips? Today at a huge lake in southern Nevada. Thanks!
