Finally got my drivers permit last week (one of the last people in my grade at school to do so), but unfortunately haven't been able to use it since I've been really sick for the last week and have been stuck in bed.
Congrats man! I know I'm not the latest bloomer here in regards to what age I got my permit and subsequently my license, (I'm 19, got a permit when I was 18. Got NY license on my 19th birthday. So it's been about two months with it) but don't compare yourself to others. Be proud you've taken the step and got the permit. Feel better soon!

Just curious, out of the >10,000 species of birds, who here has seen the most, and what is that number? Any world-famous birders not on the forum with more known counts?
Not I.

Hey @God's Child, it's a new bird now! I hope you weren't in the middle of your Red Crossbill drawing..
Nope, not at all. I've been busy of late. Thanks.

My year list is at 76 for the time being and I'm not really expecting it to get much higher by the end of the month. Unless I manage to get to some new hotspots that is. By far my favorite bird was my lifer Long-tailed Duck.
I'm at 77 now with Cooper's Hawk. Not sure what'll happen from here on out now.

Congrats! I haven’t seen a Long-tailed in so long.
Thanks!!! I loved seeing them! So crisp and beautiful despite the fog.

Go ahead and pick the winner (imo)...this lazy streak of mine needs to end and I don't want to hold up the rest of you.

Sorry! I will.
Why don’t we just restart the Scaup challenge now and have the deadline be two weeks from now?
Having a deadline honestly does help. Doesn't leave it open ended. I'll have it in before the week is out.

Thanks @The Bird Nuts! Everyone had great submissions as always, and I'm glad @God's Child finally got around to drawing something.
The bird to draw this week is Lesser Scaup! (Though I probably wouldn't notice if you drew Greater instead ?) Seems like there hasn't been as much waterfowl on this thread, so it will be interesting to see everyone's submissions.
Oh haha. Yeah, 'bout time I did something I said I was gonna do. Ooooh. I've only drawn a few ducks and they were decent but my skills are a bit rusty still. This'll be fun.

It looks good. But bummer about the scanner. How about taking a photo of your artwork with a phone or camera?
Sure, why not lol.
