Franklin's Gull?
Robert Nelson replied to Robert Nelson's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
I have a shot of a Laughing Gull. I was going by the broken eye ring and the curved upper beak on this one. Field guide said a red bill, but I couldn't tell about that. Thanks for your response, a Franklin's is a first for me! -

?? Little Bird
Robert Nelson replied to Robert Nelson's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
No, I'm sorry. I waited for it to turn it's head to get the shot, and it flew as soon as I shot. -
I first thought Eastern Phoebe, but now I'm not sure. Maybe just the light on the bill makes it look two-toned. Lake Frierson State Park, Northeastern Arkansas, Sept. 28, 2018. https://flic.kr/p/2aa5vEP

Osprey? and Belted Kingfisher?
Robert Nelson replied to Robert Nelson's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
Thank you! I really appreciate your quick response! -
It was a very foggy morning, and I thought I was getting a Mississippi Kite until I got home and cleaned up the shot. I now think it might be an Osprey. I didn't know the second bird was in the shot until it cleaned up. Could it be a Belted Kingfisher? Lake Frierson State Park, Northeastern Arkansas, Sept. 28, 2018 https://flic.kr/p/2araVwj

Thank you! The others that I've seen have all been above the water. I guess you're right about being full. I've never seen one in this park, usually out over fish hatcheries. Thanks for your quick response!
