  1. Got plenty of one and a mustard seed of the other so we'll get through πŸ˜„
  2. @Bird Brain et.al. Probably won't be seeing much of me for a while either - just had to make the hardest decision of my life and check my dear wife into a hopefully short term stay at a mental institution. Lifelong chronic pain, plus some rough things/grief in life recently and add on top a case of postpartum that turned really scary pretty quickly. Not sleeping well for over a month eventually turned into 3 hours total sleep in the past 7 days and took her mind with it. 😒 Not sure how anyone could keep going as long as she did. Anyhow I've got plenty of good help around but still trying to give 3 little kids 4 mo - 4 yrs as normal of a life as possible and also catch up on some things that have been neglected far too long at home while trying to fight this. Plenty of prayers appreciated - God definitely has had his hand in all of this even down to a last minute bed opening up in the facility 10 min from home just a couple hours before they were planning to transport her to the next nearest available place that would have been a 4-6 hr drive round trip.
  3. How many of you complained about grandma's cooking this year and had to eat crow πŸ˜‰
  4. Clearly something important like the potty habits of California gulls - reverse engineering their precision aiming systems for military use to be exact. Oh sorry it's not April 1st yet
  5. birdie πŸ¦† #185: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ©β¬›β¬›β¬› https://birdiegame.net/ Both of mine were! Anyone else puzzle over what that color had a wren tailπŸ˜‚
  6. birdie πŸ¦… #183: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯🟩 https://birdiegame.net/ First two were just guesses with a bunch of common words to hopefully get a strike and get a couple more pictures. Next 3 were all in range but not quite there. Finally decided to go looking in Merlin since I had run out of family names to guess.
  7. Make sure you at least take the time to enjoy the ones out the window - it's one of the ways I help deal with caregiver fatigue. ❀️
  8. Agree. They are one of my favorite birds. They can be sporadic 'migrants' - some years many more than others. Last year I had a pair at my feeder almost every day
  9. birdie πŸ¦… #177: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ¨πŸŸ¨πŸŸ©β¬›β¬› https://birdiegame.net/ Was way off on my second guess but still got a yellow card for color so that narrowed it down drastically
  10. birdie πŸ¦‰ #176: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯ https://birdiegame.net/ And unashamed, I didn't try using any helps and have never to my knowledge ever even seen a picture of this bird or heard the name.
  11. I know I can sort by date, region, media or not, etc. but is there any way I can sort my lists by type? i.e. Traveling, stationary, complete vs incidental etc?
  12. Very cool. I usually input some of that data myself if I think it was a significant factor in what I saw (or didn't)
  13. That's what carry with me in the truck every day. I also have a pair of the crossfire that I won in a contest - I don't like them as well. Not necessarily the image quality but just the fit and feel - honestly might just be simply because they're different and I've used the D-backs so long they are like a bionic extention of me.
  14. You're in good company Any bird in this family would be a lifer for me. birdie πŸ¦† #172: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯🟨🟨 https://birdiegame.net/
  15. Me too. And what would normally be the recent activity feed from the forum on the home page was just a bunch of mumbo-jumbo coding language while the forum was down πŸ˜„
  16. birdie πŸ¦… #167: πŸŸ₯πŸŸ₯πŸŸ©β¬›β¬›β¬› https://birdiegame.net/ Really not sure how anyone managed this on the first guess
  17. Where is the 'All of the above' option?
  18. I saw a lifer today - I just don't know which one πŸ˜„ I was out at the Oregon Coast for a couple of hours with my wife today. A really nasty rainy, blustery day but we had one of the most popular beaches in the state to ourselves for a few minutes and only saw a very few people. Saw a couple of scoter sp. (all 3 of which would have been lifers) out in the surf but wasn't able to get good enough looks to decide which one and I didn't have my camera with me
  19. Should'a saved that for #1000
  20. "No bath, no breakfast!" To quote Wilfred Grenfell. Even if it means a dive off an iceberg.
  21. Guess what showed up in my mailbox a couple of days ago 😎 First time I ever received mail officially addressed to 'Birder' - quite the important sounding title πŸ˜„ The book looks great! Haven't had a chance to color but I flipped through it. I know what I'm taking to the MO cousins at the end of the year. 🎁
  22. birdie πŸ¦… #162: πŸŸ¨πŸŸ©β¬›β¬›β¬›β¬› https://birdiegame.net/ Went with the same first guess as most of you and @Charlie Spencer 's comment gave me just enough of a direction without reading any of the redacted information. Plus the fact that someone recently posted today's bird to the ID sub-forum
  23. birdie 🦒 #161: πŸŸ©β¬›β¬›β¬›β¬›β¬› https://birdiegame.net/ Did better than I hoped.
