  1. It came from the West, turned back near the Swinging Bridge, and headed toward the Valley entrance. Less people, less white water for a stretch there. I'm familiar with them on the Pacific Coast and some inland lakes; YNP and Merlin say they're "rare" in the Valley.
  2. Seen from Yosemite Valley floor, looking south and up toward Glacier Point.
  3. Colors: bright yellow head and tail, gray back; faint bars on wing; longish tail; Tanager size; in Willows, Cedars, and Pines; appeared to be fly-catching; Location: Yosemite Valley, Lodge area near river Date: July 19. 2019. 3PM
