It is sparrow size .. no question about that... albeit it sure appears to be a cowbird Eating entirely on ground in mixture of short green fescue grass/dead grass and gravel in a pull out of road …note picture below for surrounding habitat … Bird was totally Alone … in same exact “spot” 4 days in a row and in fact same spot one day when I went by the area twice within three hours Not injured I had to make it fly Observed in Cades Cove Great Smoky Mtns National park Was located at 35°36'25.644" N 83°49'13.542" W at an altitude of 1801.2 feet above sea level One observer that was me (Ray Ellis) and observed on November 6, 7, 8, 9 and I could have watched the bird the entire day if I wished … was a permanent resident on this site
