    @IKLlandThat's what I called it in the field. But when I got home and looked at the pics, his legs seemed much too pale for a Laugher.

    12 Aug 2022 Baldwin co. AL; delta/bay; busy roadway 1. Forsters vs. Common giving me fits, especially in non-breeding plumage. With the exception of the obvious Black Tern, are the ones with the fuller cap (i.e. extending over back of head) Commons or are all Forster's? 2. Forster's vs. Common along wall; immature Black Tern vs. ? in flight?

    In breeding season, look under bridges. I've seen Barn, Cave, and Cliff Swallow nesting communally. They also often forage together in a loose association--in Winter this includes our southeastern migratory swallows. One-stop shopping for swallow Lifers.

    LOWA would make more sense, geographically speaking. Are they sometimes shy like this bird? The few times I have seen either waterthrush (always during migration) they have been on the ground and easily seen.

    Bedraggled Boat-tailed Grackle. I don't know if he is molting his tail-feathers or if he has recently returned from a near-death experience--he acts as if his left foot may be hurt.

    02 Aug 2022 Baldwin co. AL; thick, low woods, rank with invasive grasses & trees I never saw the bird. Merlin and Birdnet say Kentucky Warbler, but we are not eat-up with those this time of year.
