  1. Thank you so much! So it's pretty hard to tell in the overlap area it seems. Drives me crazy when I can't tell one way or the other! Oh well I'll just enjoy them coming to my feeder, getting one seed and flying off. Have a great day!
  2. I took this yesterday, Oct 16th, on the C&O Canal in Maryland by Shepherdstown WV. It was jumping from branch to branch. Not the best picture and I understand warblers are hard to ID this time of the year. The breast had faint streaks but honestly you could barely make them out. Thank you!
  3. I have been trying to identify this chickadee but keep getting stumped. I live in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia so it appears that I am in the over lapping area of both species. This was taken a couple of weeks ago. Thank you!
  4. Thank you all so much! That’s a first for me! Up to 79 species now!
  5. I saw this bird yesterday 10-9-20 at the Lost River State Park near Mathias West Virginia. It was a little bigger that a sparrow and was in the lower parts of the trees. In the picture it looks like it has a dark streak on it but that is part of the branch. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
  6. Thanks so much Charlie! What a pretty bird!
  7. Thank you all so much! I didn't even know there was such a bird as an orchard oriole!
  8. I need help identifying this bird. It was taken today in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia in a nature preserve. The only thing I can find is perhaps an orchard oriole? It was foraging through the bushes by a creek. I'd say it was about 5 inches long, Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  9. Thank you guys! I can always rely on you! I promise I do my do diligence trying to identify my birds before I post here!
  10. I need help identifying this bird. It was taken yesterday in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia in a nature preserve. There is a pond close by, a creek and farmland. It was probably 4-5 inches long and was perched in the top of a tree. I thought it may be a brown headed cowbird but I didn't see the brown head and have never really seen them singing from the top of trees? Not saying they don't do that though? It appeared all black wth almost a bluish tint? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  11. Awwww man! I thought it was some exotic species! 😂 Well thank you both very much! On to the next bird!
  12. I photographed this bird this morning and I'm stumped. It was sitting in the top of a tree and it was a large bird, maybe 8 inches? Looking at the pictures I was thinking maybe a female or juvenile northern flicker but I'm not sure? This was taken in Clear Brook Virginia near the West Virginia state line. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!
