    I'm heading down to Colombia to be photographer with another birder and photographer friend of mine. He is going to write a book on Colombia and the Amazon and wants some photography assistance. Do any of you have any recommendations or tips for preparing for the trip? What gear will I want, etc?

    Better than any other spring! I'm out of school and into the full work swing. I think I have somewhere around 150 species. Possibly in the beginning of August, I may spend a week in the Amazon in Colombia doing some wildlife (especially birds) for a friend of mine who is writing a book about Colombia, since he is teaching school there.

    We got 105 species on Big Day. Could have gotten more, but we ran out of time. It was raining a lot of the day with some hail.
