We live in Corrales, between Albuquerque and Rio Rancho in New Mexico. During the winter, we enjoy the seasonal arrival of Sandhill cranes and entice some of them by tossing out a bucket of cracked corn. By doing so, we also attract the attention of crows, quail, red-winged black birds and others, among of which is a flock of birds I cannot identify, not from bird books I have (like the Audubon Field Guide of New America) or Whatbird.com. To dispel the mystery, I am attaching a photo I took this morning of the birds while they were feeding . The length of a side of the hexagon bowl is 6 inches. Thanks very much!
