  1. Always tricky these all-white birds, this was the best I could do. Not sure if I am satisfied, though.. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/614095988
  2. Trying to find new places for birding after moving, not yet convinced; however, here is one from today https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/612671554
  3. I think you already saw this photo, but it is still my best for the field sparrow
  4. I really like these little bearded readlings! I still do not have the “perfect” photo that I really want from this species, but I’ll get it eventually! https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/610294356
  5. I’ve seen a lot of herons and egrets hunting, I’ve seen a lot of herons and egrets standing in the fields. However, I’ve never actively seen them hunting in the fields, I never knew they were so proficient in hunting rodents! In the 30 minutes or so I watched a small group of herons and one egret caught one mouse after the other! Images are unfortunately a heavy crop with high ISO, but hopefully, in the future, I will get better shots https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/610074636 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/610074642
  6. Choosing the best images from the Sanderlings was difficult, but I am going for these two. No too bad for my first time shooting on a beach! https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/610015350 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/610015451
  7. I wish I could have gone lower to the water level, but I am quite happy with this series of pictures from the Little Egret as a lifer https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/609633279
  8. Absolutely fantastic shots!! Based on the blood on its beak it looks like this Gray Heron had a fresh kill in the rain; " unfortunately" I did not witness that https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/609246252 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/609246242
  9. Seen in Oviedo, FL on 20 Aug; I don't know how to label this one
  10. Thanks, let's see if anyone else has another opinion 🙂
  11. One from back home. It took a while for me to figure out what species it was, at first in the field I thought it was an ordinary buzzard. However, several apps and algorithms had problems with identifying this bird. Eventually someone noted the shape of the nostril; which is apparently distinct for the European Honey-buzzard. Even though this is "just" a joung bird, I am still happy with my first sighting of this species! 🙂 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/608927989
  12. Today a white-breasted nuthatch from the trip; love the lichen on the tree branch https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/608881639
  13. They were "just" at the Cypress Gardens, we only went for a boat ride and then we walked around the pond where I took these pictures. Any particular reason you are asking? 🙂
  14. Are these all Sanderling Seen them on 20th of August at Madeira Beach in Florida. First time bringing the camera and taking the effort to take some pictures on the beach
  15. Seen on August 28 in the Shenandoah park in Virginia. I first thought all images were of the same bird, but upon closer inspection, I think the last 2 are a different species; not sure which one
  16. Same here; for me it is not possible to go birding, make a selection, and edit those pictures on a regular day. We just got back from vacation and need to sort through, select, and edit a bit over 5000 photos. So here are the first that are done. I wish I could have gone lower with the green heron, but with several alligators nearby, I thought that was not a good idea 😅 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/608848638 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/608848634
  17. Thanks for the input! Not sure if I will label it with the uncertainty
  18. Would these pictures be enough for an ID? I saw this one on the rec ent road trip on 25 August at the Cypress Gardens In South Carolina. I believe all pictures show the same bird, but I have been wrong on this before so take it with a grain of salt
