Not sure about the Dowitcher, is it a shot or long-billed? First time seeing them so no real experience with ID'ing these. The other two I believe are Willet and Ruddy Trunstone. Seen at Madeira Beach on the west coast of Florida on Aug 20.

Currently on a road trip from Orlando to Boston, so will have a few posts throughout the East Coast. Saw this one and I thought it was a dark-eyed junco since it showed quite distinct flaring of the white outer tailfeathers when landing, but eBird told me to specifically check since this was a rare sighting at this spot.. Seen in the Shenandoah state park Aug 28. These are two different birds

Not sure if this would fit here, but I need your help! I was playing around with some environmental backlight shots. What do you guys like the best? I think my preference goes to the first image shown here. I realize the bird is tiny in the frame, but that is why I labelled it as an environmental shot. Good point, not sure. I don’t see them that often (3 times thus far) so I don’t have much reference material. But for other birds mainly living in the reeds I do get better shots; that said, I also get more opportunities to photograph the more common ones and a higher chance of better pictures

I like the stark contrast between the bright blue of the Indigo Bunting and the lush green of the environment.
