  1. Captured this pretty bird in a Nature area marsh land in the Williamette Valley Oregon in afternoon of May 25, 2022. It is half the size of a bluejay.
  2. William Finley National Wildlife Refuge, south of Corvallis, Oregon. Time about midday. Please help identify. Is it a red-breasted nuthatch?

  5. I thought they were blackbirds, then I saw the blueish tint to the nap of the neck, down the back, wings and tail feathers. Just one of two that I assume were mates.

  7. This bird appeared to be nesting in the housing provided at Bald Hill Natural Area near Corvallis, Oregon. Photos taken July 23, 2020. Sorry I don't have better photos, but I am very curious. Can anyone help? See photos attached. Thank you in advance.
  8. I apologize for the poorer quality image, but this guy was chirping and moving through the reeds at Sunset Park, Corvallis Oregon about 9:15am in the morning. I had previously asked about a larger bird that this forum identified as a Green Heron and wondered if this was a younger one. The beak has a little curvature and I couldn't tell exactly what the feet looked like, but here is the image anyway. Any help on identifying this beautiful bird will be appreciated. Thank you!
  9. Thank you for replying and identifying. It didn't look like its legs were long enough to be a heron to me. However, it was in the water so harder to tell, and also maybe proportionate to the species. I'm a newbie, and hadn't seen one before. Thanks again!
