  1. Interesting! I’ve never seen that orangish color on one before. Thank you!
  2. Taken in Denver, CO this morning. Not from this region but Common Redpoll is the only thing I can come up with in my quick research. Shows it would be rare in the area for this time of year. Please excuse the poor photo.
  3. Is this a Connecticut Warbler? Observed today in Menominee County, Michigan (Upper Peninsula) this morning, July 6, 2022. Please excuse the poor photos.
  4. Seen this morning in Northeast Texas (Smith County). Thanks in advance.
  5. Observed in Lubbock, TX on February 18, 2022. I settled on juvenile Cooper’s but would like confirming opinions. Thanks!
  6. Observed today (February 13, 2022) in East Texas (Smith County). Palm Warbler is the only thing I can come up with, but it would be very much out of range if it is. I was observing a different bird when it darted into a tree beside me. I did not get to observe it for very long before it took off again. Help is appreciated!
  7. Still a novice at waterfowl! Taken this morning (December 8, 2021) in East Texas (Smith County). Conditions were stormy, overcast, and very dark. Range maps make Lesser more likely but would appreciate an expert opinion.
  8. I think relative size and chest marking are right for juvenile Red-Shouldered. Wanting someone to double-check my work. Observed today (December 7, 2021) in northeastern Texas (Smith County).
  9. Having difficulty discerning this one. Torn between Alder and Least Flycatcher. Observed today in East Texas (Smith County).
  10. I think this is an Acadian Flycatcher but would like a second opinion. Taken in East Texas (Wood County) today (5/1/2021).
  11. Can some confirm this is a Great-Horned Owl? Taken 3/28/2021 in East Texas (Tyler). Thanks!
  12. Having a difficult time with this one. I feel like it is a Swainson’s Hawk, but color and facial markings don’t seem quite right for it unless it is a juvenile. Thanks in advance! Taken in Motley County, TX on September 6, 2020.
  13. Please help with ID. Taken in Glacier National Park, Montana last July. Asking for a friend.
  14. Saw this flock from quite a ways away. Pretty certain they are White Ibis but seeking confirmation. Observed today June 13, 2020 in East Texas (Smith County).
  15. Unless a juvenile’s behavior is vastly different than an adult, hopping along the ground does not sound right at all for a flycatcher.
  16. Foremost, I am loath to post pictures of such poor quality. I will spare you the several excuses for why they are bad. We spotted this one at dusk—solitary and hopping along the ground in a field. Its breast is yellow with dark grayish head and back. I included the pathetic attempt with the flash so the wing feathers can be seen from a posterior view. Taken yesterday in East Texas (Smith County).
