  1. Yea we will be able to get up there.
  2. My dad and I plan to take a birding trip to the Southwest in a couple months. We are flying into Phoenix, AZ on March 31. From there on out we are very flexible, and we will be flying back on the 6th or 7th of April. Our range is all the way out west to the Los Angeles Region as well as SE towards Tuscon, AZ. I know a lot of members from the forum are familiar with this region, so I would like some advice on which places in the area would be the best hotpots to hit while there. I don't really have any target species as this is the first time I will be on/near the West Coast and practically everything there would be a lifer. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
  3. This is actually a Yellow-rumped Warbler
  4. I finished the year with 438 although trips to Kenya and Germany certainly boosted the number quite a bit. I would say my best birds this year were Water Rail, Verreaux's Eagle-Owl, and Harlequin Duck.
  5. I'm gonna have to go with this Sooty Chat from my trip to Kenya this year. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/466613601
  6. I've been looking through my pictures from my trips to Europe the last two years, and I've found some birds that I never ID'd. The first one is from Aug. 8, 2021 in Germany, specifically South Bavaria along the River Inn near the Austrian border. I believe it is a Red Knot but I'm not sure. The other three are from this year, July 28, 2022 also in Germany, but this time further north and to the east in a province called Saxon-Anhalt, near the city of Leipzig. The first out of these three I can't figure out what species of Redstart it is, and the other two I have no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/518160541 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/518161251 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/518161381 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/518161391
  7. Seen today in the North Carolina Outer Banks. Both photos are of the same individual. Could this be a Red-throated Loon due to the thinner bill and clean separation of the white throat and gray neck? Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/517464381 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/517464391
  8. I saw this bird this morning (12/27/22) at the North Carolina Outer Banks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/517031581 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/517031591 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/517031601
  9. How did you decide between that and White-winged? I'm just curious because I've never dealt with scoters before.
  10. I'm on a family vacation on the North Carolina Outer Banks for a couple of days, and I saw this bird from our house there. I think it's a scoter species, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The first photo is an edited and cropped version of the second one. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/516836771 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/516836791 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/516836781
