Sorry, correction: the second bird is a Chickadee. I’m seeing gray feet now, something a kinglet shouldn’t have. Sorry about that.
I should have different picture, will get back home and attach this eve. It is not Chickadee for sure... Kinglet, probably ruby..

You can see in this photo that the bill is quite a bit longer than the width head and is also slightly upturned, which also points to greater. Greaters also have a paler bill base making the nostril more pronounced, but you can’t really see that in these photos except the last one.
Sometimes you get lucky and have both types beside each other then it is quite easy to decipher the two.
Probably not easy to distinguish, they are on a distance as well. Easier to see on enlarged pics...

There's been a bunch of shovelers hanging out in Trout Lake. I've seen them best near the reedy area by the beach but I've seen them over at the dog park end as well. According to ebird they were still there on Saturday.
Thank you for a tip, PAUL!

@Victor DI've heard a couple of them this week in Strathcona in Vancouver but haven't seen one yet this year. Last year they were around pretty consistently once they arrived for a couple of months. If I see them settle somewhere I'll let you know.
Would it be easier to photograph the Black-Capped and photoshop it into Chestnut??? ? Ha!
