    Could the square look be from a single wing being folded in half?  Still speculating on a possible insect meal since that is their only listed food source, other than eating fruit in the winter.

    Dark-eyed Junco is about as far as my thoughts go. With so many variables, further classification is more frustration than I am interested in. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing interesting variations, I just don't have the brain space to sort out those variations.

    I think what @IKLland is asking is, is there a Chihuahuan AND Eastern Meadowlark counted on the list or is there just one Meadowlark counted. I don't think I added a number to my Meadowlark so that may have messed up the count that is in questioned.
