  1. If you're talking about the number of layers of bug spray I am going to need for protection, you're probably right. ?
  2. The cloud part is similar, and they moved very much like the birds in your video, but that's where the similarity ends. Here's a closer shot of my flock. Again, clicking the image a few times shows more detail.
  3. Does anyone want to take a stab at counting this flock, strictly for entertainment purposes, of course. Clicking the photo a few times will enlarge it in Flickr for anyone curious enough to look.
  4. I finally took a drive along the river to the nearby Osprey nest today. Lighting was poor but it was fun watching and hearing the display being put on while the fish was being delivered to the nest. Definitely trying to show off and announce the prize catch before offering it to his mate.
  5. Double-crested Cormorant I can see that I'm going to need to get creative before the week's over, not too many D's in my photo library to choose from.
  6. BRDL 77 ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
  7. Nope. I have an idea for a work around so you can see it though. Hopefully it works. Edit: You'll need to expand the quote below to see the photo.
  8. BRDL 75 ???? ???? ???? ????
  9. Clicking on the image will usually enlarge a photo on Flickr, sometimes getting bigger if you click the image a second or third time. Alternatively, clicking the double arrows to the top right of the photo(see red circle below) will also enlarge the photo, sometimes enlarging it more than clicking on the image does.
  10. Two in one day, I like it. BRDL 74 ???? ???? ???? ???? ???? No list today, not much else I could put together after eliminating so many letters.
  11. A suggested name change that I always liked was changing Northern Flicker to White-rumped Groundpecker, both physical and behavioral description there.
  12. I did the same thing yesterday. I thought I had ruled Gulls out of the equation when the U didn't fit. When I couldn't figure out an Egret that fit with iBird's list, I resorted to the banding code list and sorted through it until I found something that ended with EEG. Getting the last two letters first gave me tunnel vision on that one.
  13. BRDL 73 ???? ???? ???? ???? ????
  14. Awesome capture @pictaker. I have to ask, is this one of those rare instances where you had more lens than you needed, or is it just a tight crop?
  15. This is the first and only time I haven't seen the rating stars. I suspect it's because I'm not eBird member, but I can see the rating stars for all other checklist photos I look at, but not with this photographer's photos. ?‍♂️
  16. Is it possible to hide your ratings on eBird? I see lots of photos on the above checklist being rated multiple times but not showing any rating at all. Since 0 stars doesn't seem to be an option for rating, I have to wonder if the ratings are being hid by the photographer. That'd be one way to ensure your photos are rated on their quality and not influenced by someone thinking your photo is rated too high or too low.
  17. Does this Red-winged Blackbird have black feathers coming in with white tips that will wear off or is something else going on here? I have to say that I have never noticed this plumage on Red-winged Blackbirds before and it just struck me as odd. I am used to seeing streaky females and immature males, but I don't remember seeing one that could compare to a European Starling's white chevrons instead of a RWBL's streaks. Have I just not been observant in the past or is this just a weird looking bird? Clicking through to Flickr and clicking on the image once or twice will show better detail if needed.
