  1. A photo containing at least 3 different species whose common name starts with the word "American."
  2. I've got a good one for the next challenge if that's okay.
  3. Two weeks is up and I'm the only one that submitted a photo of "birds of prey."
  4. Taken on 1-24-2021 late afternoon on the Los Angeles River near Sunnynook Foot Bridge in Atwater Village, CA. Is the woodpecker a female Nuttall's? The hawk photos are the same bird -- which flew about 100 yards to another tree. Is this a Red-Shouldered? Thanks.
  5. I can flyyyyyyy...like a bird! Yeah, I see.
  6. Do you know where I can find Spanx for geese?
  7. Hang in there Daisy....just 3 more days of training and we get our Bird of Prey certificate!
  8. Taken 1-17-2021 in the afternoon on the Los Angeles River in the Sepulveda Basin, Van Nuys, CA. 1) What is the duck at the bottom right? I can't figure out the white stripe. 2) Are these Least Sandpipers? 3) Don't know 4) I think its the same bird as #3
  9. Taken 1-19-2021 in the afternoon above Los Angeles River, near Red Car pedestrian bridge, Atwater Village, CA. Are both of these Cooper's Hawks?
  10. Taken 1-15-2021 late afternoon above the Los Angeles River near Sunnynook Foot Bridge, Atwater Village, CA. What gulls are these? The first two are the same bird, and the second two are the same bird.
  11. Taken on 1-15-2021 late afternoon on above Los Angeles River, Atwater Village, CA. I'm thinking Sharpie, but not confident.
  12. Taken 2021-01-15 at dusk above the Hyperion Ave bridge over Los Angeles River, Atwater Village, CA. Would this be a White-faced Ibis?
  13. Taken 1-19-2021 late afternoon on the Los Angeles River upstream of Hyperion Ave Bridge, Atwater Village, CA. Are these both Mallards?
  14. Taken 1-19-2021 in late afternoon on the Los Angeles River, north of Glendale Blvd. bridge, Atwater Village, CA. Orange-crowned Warbler(s) ??? Maybe one individual or two individuals -- taken 5 minutes apart. I can't tell that there is a broken eye ring or an eye line.
  15. Taken 1-17-2020 late afternoon near Haskell Creek, Sepulveda Basin, Van Nuys, CA. Is this a Red-shouldered Hawk?
  16. Are these birds of prey? Taken yesterday 1-17-2021.
  17. Taken yesterday 1-17-2021. It would have been a great shot if I had gotten the gull in focus.
  18. Okay, I should have included the attached photo which was immediately following the first one. Right before these two photos, I had two shots of a Belted Kingfisher flying in the same spot (heading the other direction), then two shots of a Black Phoebe sitting in a tree, then these two photos -- all within the same minute. I don't really remember the details, but I think it was flying in a straight line heading under the bridge, and was fairly small. It could have been that the Black Phoebe took off from the tree and I tried to catch it in flight.
  19. Taken 11-11-2020 at Los Angeles River near Glendale Blvd bridge, Atwater Village, CA.
  20. Taken today 1-14-2021 in late afternoon in Glendale, CA. Is this an Orange-crowned Warbler? The bill seems rather long.
