  1. This was taken on 10-8-2020 late afternoon in Glendale, CA -- residential area. I was first thinking it was a flycatcher, but couldn't nail it down. Then thought it might be a Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler. Verdicts, please.
  2. Anyone willing to make comments about this bird (better photos coming soon). Taken 10-7-2020 late afternoon in Glendale, CA -- roadside in a natural area.
  3. Thanks Benjamin and Colton. It's interesting that it didn't come up in my search on WhatBird. I must have specified something that excluded it. Thanks again.
  4. This was taken on 9-24-2020 about 10 am in Glendale, CA. It seems like this is distinctive enough that I should be able to identify it, but I'm coming up short.
  5. Thanks akandula. Having not photographed a bluebird before, that's not a very good image to use to try to identify one.
  6. Taken on 9-27-2020 around 5 pm in El Cajon, CA (San Diego County).
  7. Taken on 9-27-2020 around 10 am in El Cajon, CA (San Diego County). Are the first 3 photos of a House Sparrow or something else? The bill color has me questioning it. And is the 4th photo a female of the same species? Thanks.
  8. Thanks Akandula. No wonder I was confused. I was expecting them to be the same species since they were hanging out together.
  9. I appear to have some Kingbirds, but I'm not sure what species. These were taken in the late afternoon on 9-27-2020 in El Cajon, CA (San Diego County). I saw at least 4 different individuals -- but the photos appear to be of two individuals.
  10. Thanks Tony. There actually was a bird that I had identified as an Orange-crowned taken about 15 minutes later.
  11. Let me add a couple more photos. The bird from the first photo previously submitted is in the lower right and another bird (which may or may not be the bird from the second photo previously submitted) is in the upper left. And then a closeup of that bird. Is this the Nashville Warbler?
  12. I was looking at some old photos. These were taken on 4-5-2014 in Glendale, CA. It appears I have a male Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler in the first and third photos. Note the other bird to the left in the first photo. Is the second photo a female Yellow-rumped, or what? Thanks
  13. Are these all Orange-crowned Warblers? They were taken in Glendale, CA. The first photo was taken on 5-14-2020. It may have a greenish cast to the photo. The other 3 were taken on 8-28-2020. Thanks.
  14. Taken on 9-11-2020 in Glendale, CA. I initially thought this was an Anna's Hummingbird, but then began to question it. I'd like the view of some expert eyes.
  15. Taken 9-11-2020 in Glendale, CA. This bird does not look like the typical house finches that hang around my feeder, but that's what I come up with when I try to ID it. It's plumage is so sweet. It seemed to be solitary, but I only noticed it this one time.
  16. Photos taken around noon on 8-9-2020 at Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve in Van Nuys, CA. Is the larger one a juvenile red-tailed hawk, and what is the smaller raptor flying with it?
  17. These two birds were photographed on 8-27-2020 about 7 minutes apart in the late afternoon on my balcony under a bird feeder in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. The following day two similar birds were seen together in the same place. Are these both Dark-eyed Juncos? If so, is the second one a female or juvenile?
  18. That is it! No wonder it was difficult to ID. Thank you Conner.
  19. This bird was seen in the late afternoon on 8-25-2020 in my backyard in Glenoaks Canyon, Glendale, CA. At one point there were two of them that looked pretty much the same. It has an orange rump underneath at the base of the tail feathers.
