Taken on 1-5-2022 in the afternoon on the Los Angeles River between Burbank Channel confluence and the Riverside Dr. bridge in Glendale, CA.
I usually don't attempt to ID immature gulls (and I think this is one). There were just two gulls standing in the water (a Western and this one) and I'm just curious what this is. I have a couple guesses, but could be way off. I looked away to photograph some other birds and was going to come back to this one to get better shots, but when I turned back it was gone.

I thought that last one was going to be fairly easy. I hope this next one is much easier.
Challenge:
A photo containing at least 2 different species whose common names start with a hyphenated descriptor that is composed of first a color and second a body part. E.g. -- Black-throated ??? and Ruby-crowned ???

Taken in the late afternoon over the Los Angeles River at Glendale Narrows Riverwalk in Glendale, CA.
I identified several White-throated Swifts and Northern Rough-winged Swallows. This was the only one that looked different.
The tail looks like Barn Swallow, but I'm not sure that the rest of it does.

Oh but they are adventures. For us it isn't just about the birds. As you know I'm also into herps and butterflies and mammals and bugs. It is also about the landscape and sometimes even the food which could be anything from restaurants to farmers markets we find along the way. The point is to get out of the house, have a good time even if we don't find our target birds.
What about the flora?

I don't know whether they are the same or different birds, but it's a Nashville Warbler.
Okay, I wasn't sure about the black on the chin and forehead. Is that a male with the black starting to come in, or did it get into something while foraging?

Agree with Nashville
Did you get the Black-throated Green or Lucy's Warbler?
I got Lucy's. I don't think I have a Black-throated Green. I think they are all Townsend's.
I got the following species in the same tree:
Black-throated Gray Warbler
Lucy's Warbler
Nashville Warbler
Townsend's Warbler
Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Bushtit
Nuttall's Woodpecker

Taken 12-28-2021 at Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino (Los Angeles Co.), CA.
I think I know what these are, but I want to hear it from you.
The first two photos are of the same individual. The second two photos are of the same individual. Whether it is just one bird or two, I don't know. If two, I think both are the same species.

The male has clearly been foraging and still has a bump towards the back of it's rather slender head. I'd call that Lesser if I saw it, but I'm far from an expert.
Yes the male was actively foraging.

Was it cold that evening? It may be fluffed up for insulation.
I didn't think it was cold, but I guess the bird did.

@IKLland Thanks, I never knew how to do that either.
