  1. I ID them as 1. Gray, I had two Gray Flycatchers the previous day at this spot, and one the day after this. This bird was flycatching over a field, not in the forest where the pacific-slopes were. 2. Dusky, I had both Dusky and Hammond's at this same location the day before. I think I remember it having a Song like a dusky. 3. Olive-sided, I have very little experience with both species.
  2. More unconfirmed birds, This time they are hummingbirds. Bird One. I am most curious about this one. I had initially reported it as a Calliope, one of the silliest things I have ever done with bird ID, Bu the regional reviewer said It might be a Costa's. I wonder what you all think. I saw it on 3/19/20 Bird Two. Seen on 4/18/20 Bird Three. Seen on 5/14/20 Bird Four. Seen on 4/22/20. I'm almost certain this is a Black-chinned. A male Black-chinned was displaying at it. Have a Merry Christmas!
  3. I thought I would get my number of ebird Unconfirmed reports I have on my account down. Here are Three Flycatchers From this spring. I won't say what I thought they were so that It is not biased towards any one species. Bird One. Seen 4/26/20 Bird Two. Seen 4/27/20 Bird Three. Seen 5/06/20 Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas.
  4. I was just looking at my ebird unconfirmed birds, and noticed that I had several hawks I reported as Sharp-shinned get flagged. So I thought I would put them on here to see what everyone thinks. Some of these may be a better fit for Sharp shinned/ Cooper's category. This is the second post. Bird One. Very poor photo, But it was a very small hawk. This one triggered the ebird rare bird alert because it was late in the season. Seen 5/11/20 Bird Two. I think this one may be a cooper's upon a second look. Seen 12/19/20 Bird Three. This one is a very strait forward Sharpie with that black cap. seen 12/20/20 Happy Holidays.
  5. I was just looking at my ebird unconfirmed birds, and noticed that I had several hawks I reported as Sharp-shinned get flagged. So I thought I would put them on here to see what everyone thinks. Some of these may be a better fit for Sharp shinned/ Cooper's category. Bird One. I had this one get identified as a Sharpie on an Audubon Field trip, But it has been flagged. Seen on 2/15/20 Bird Two. This hawk is from 2/20/20. If I remember correctly it was pretty small. Bird Three. This one is probably fit in the Sharp shinned/ Cooper's category. Seen on 4/10/20 Merry Christmas.
  6. 1. Red- shouldered Hawk 2. Red-trailed Hawk 3. Red-shouldered Hawk
  7. I've been undecided with this one, but I feel like it is more like a warbler than a phoebe.
  8. How often do American pipits land in trees? I've never seen one in a tree before! I do agree that this bird is an American pipit.
  9. Are you thinking it's a Hybrid? Here's another shot.
  10. Canyon Wren, far from the rarest bird of the day, but I am fascinated by these little birds.
  11. I had a Great day, I found nine county rarities, which beats my record, and several other birds that are hard to find around here. https://ebird.org/checklist/S77903309
  12. Clarks Grebe (left) and Western Grebe (right)
  13. I spent most of the day at Lake Camanche yesterday and have a few birds I would like to confirm. Bird One. I believe this is a Bald Eagle, as it has a very big bill, I'm annoyed I missed the shot of the adult Golden that was near it. Bird Two. Red-necked Grebes, I'm almost positive that this is what these two are, but I have a history of mixing these and horned grebes up. Should be the second county record according to ebird. Bird Three. Pacific loon? Unidentifiable? Both species were there that day Bird Four. Cackling Goose? Canada goose? Bill to big?
  14. It is! One was there both last winter and the winter before that!
  15. Male Gadwall, look at the black near the tail, only they have it in the ABA area.
  16. Not that I know much of anything about these Juncos, but to my eye this appears to be a hyemalis Junco.
