  1. For anyone still curious (as I was) about whether Tony might just possibly have been wrong given that another eBird reviewer called this a COHA... this observation has now been confirmed as a SSHA. https://ebird.org/checklist/S91633793?view=photos
  2. Sorry I haven't been around much y'all! Just wanted to hop on and invite you all to join my new "Whatbirders of iNat" project on iNaturalist. No particular purpose, just thought it would be nice to keep track of each other on that platform. https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/whatbirders-of-inat TKbird
  3. Not my photo, but I saw it and remembered this great thread. It's a little hard to tell from the photo, but I'm pretty sure the bird is levitating up and to the right in this case: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/456060401
  4. There are! But the only people who can post to a personal location are the owner and anyone they've shared a checklist from that location with. Only the owner can edit them. Hotspots are available to anyone and are managed by eBird volunteers (2 per county plus some high up folks). As of about a year ago you can't change the name assigned to a Hotspot on your checklists.
  5. Congrats! Halibut is a great spot.
  6. Brewer's here in the northeast is plenty rare! ?
  7. Thought I would hop on here and post this link again: https://support.ebird.org/en/support/solutions/articles/48001064392-rating-media#RatingPhotos Great to review from time to time!
  8. Aw, rum luck! Somebody on here needs to get it. Speaking of which, if anyone wants to be in the ME, MA, or Steller's Sea-Eagle GroupMe's who isn't, shoot me a message.
  9. You are absolutely crushing it with the owl sightings! Nice photos.
  10. White-eyed Vireo, my best non-hybrid find to date! Second county record, and particularly rare in fall in the region.
  11. Did one of you send a Western Kingbird my way? Because you missed my house by 0.65 miles. I'll take it though.
  12. I have nightmares about immature RSHA vs. BWHA (well, not really but you know what I mean). I'm going to bring this post back because I'd like to hear some features people are seeing that rule out BWHA. The dark throat is strong but not definitive evidence against BWHA; the lightly spotted tibial feathers on the other hand... favor BWHA.
  13. Today marks the 20th anniversary of my life list!!
  14. Here are my ratings (curious what others are seeing?): Low 4, high 3, 3, 3, 4.
  15. All but one of them are now overrated haha.
  16. To be clear, my "Thanks" reaction to this post is actually just a trophy. If somebody tops this I will be mightily impressed... six digits anyone??
  17. I just came across a page that tells you how many ratings you've made on eBird. ? https://ebird.org/quiz/ My count is 3202. I wonder who has the most on here?
