  1. Was going through my photos and noticed that one picture in my Red-winged Blackbird is significantly different. This is how female or juveniles looks like here in Washington state: and this is the picture that got my attention. Any ideas if this is still Red-Winged or Tricolored one? Thank you!
  2. thank you, everyone, 🙂 ok, I am going with Hermit since you guys are in sync thinking it is Hermit 🙂
  3. Are you sure? According to https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Hermit_Thrush/id Hermit is dirty brown on the back and only reddish on the lower back. I also took this shot on the other day in a different location, see below. And I have no doubt it is Hermit, but I am not sure those two pics above are Hermit.
  4. No, I was not, I am a noob 🙂 but they visually do look alike
  5. Hi, Took pictures of this guy in Dover NH. Looking at Hermit Thrush, Wood Thrush and Verry, I see that Hermit is not as red on the back of the body, but Wood thrush has spots all the way down. It makes me think it is Verry. What do you guys think? https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Hermit_Thrush/id https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Wood_Thrush/id https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Veery/id Here are the shots: it is the same bird, just changed branches. Thank you!
  6. Hi friends, I got this guy during a flight in Massachusetts (Parker River National Wildlife Refuge) I am not good with identifying predators and need help, please. Here are two shots from behind: and here are side shots: Thank you!

  8. It looks like ring billed have a smaller beak. Herring gulls have larger. Looking at images of ring billed ones and my picture, I think they are not the same
