Agreed. This audio has been modified too much and sounds exactly like a Zebra, not a bird.

Added original. You guys will most likely need to adjust volume up. It is very quiet. Thank you 🤓😊

Hey guys,
This recording was done in WA state (west side) on March 18th 2021.
I may be wrong, but I strongly believe this is the sound of a Steller's Jay mimicking another bird.
Two questions:- Am I right, is it Steller's Jay?
- If yes, what kind of bird Jay is mimicking?
Thank you!
You can download MP3 file or listen to it here: -
Was going through my photos and noticed that one picture in my Red-winged Blackbird is significantly different.
This is how female or juveniles looks like here in Washington state:
and this is the picture that got my attention. Any ideas if this is still Red-Winged or Tricolored one?
Thank you!

This is a Hermit Thrush.
Are you sure? According to https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Hermit_Thrush/id Hermit is dirty brown on the back and only reddish on the lower back.
I also took this shot on the other day in a different location, see below. And I have no doubt it is Hermit, but I am not sure those two pics above are Hermit.

You're aware that a Veery is a species of thrush, right?
So, you also think it is Veery?

Hi,
Took pictures of this guy in Dover NH.
Looking at Hermit Thrush, Wood Thrush and Verry, I see that Hermit is not as red on the back of the body, but Wood thrush has spots all the way down. It makes me think it is Verry. What do you guys think?

Was in process of trying to delete that comment when it timed out. Please disregard. There is a small pale tip to end of bill in bird 1.Herring 2 year seems right but leg color is off,but it may be shadows throwing it off.Are Herring common in that location?
Herrings are very common here

It looks like ring billed have a smaller beak. Herring gulls have larger. Looking at images of ring billed ones and my picture, I think they are not the same

Any gull experts? I did not get any replies on my other post:

Hello friends,
I have seen this one in January, New Hampshire, Dover. Any idea if this is Coopers Hawk or Sharp-Shinned Hawk or something else?
I took three shots from the car.

By the way I did NOT reduce noise at all. Just amplified it so it is more loud. This is exactly what it sounds like. You can hear dog barking undistorted in the background 😉
