  5. Inexperienced sightings ... Mottleds, Mallards, Mallard x Mottled... With all of the hybridization... and the reference data instructing quite a bit of variation within the Mallard-Mottled, too. What do you think about this beauty ... seen at The Celery Fields, Sarasota FL (yesterday) in a canal (south section)... foraging alone, nearby an immature little blue heron. Thank you!
  6. Hello, all - - ? pine warbler... too, a distinctive dark feathering patch at "forehead". Contrast, whiter wing bars; bright eyering with bright yellow 'chin', 'neck' and chest ... with side streaking; reddish legs and a longer tail with white patches beneath... photos here, as seen yesterday, sun city center 33573 FL, 02-06-2021. No other photos (e.g., nothing showing the plumage on the 'back' of this bird). Thanks, again!
  7. THANK you, all! My shhhh guess was a palm warbler though befuddled with the speckled plumage (a barely "PT birder"...)... grateful for the clarification and enlightenment as to the leucistic condition... MUCH appreciate your time and expertise!

  12. Hi, all--thank you for the welcomes! And, feedback on the photos, too... when time, we so enjoy trekking around in nature and I adore being able to (even) attemp capturing some views, especially unusual ones! Much appreciated.. be well, be happy!! Oh! We have nesting Great Horned Owls on the prop this year... she just began to sit the nest yesterday... cannot wait to get a glimpse of a chick or chicks... both adults, so gorgeous... eastern Great Horned Owls... I'll got a pic of one of the adults from about a week ago with fresh squirrel prey in clutches as it rested for about two hours in a pine tree early AM before it joined mate.
  13. A first-sighting for us... Apopka Wildlife Drive Loop Florida... colorful, huge legs and feet... we've read that this bird is considered a FL invasive... this was a sole individual seen among hundreds of coots and gallinules...
  14. This bird seems to have full white underparts, with dark eyes circled in white, lighter gray between bill and eye with plumage a darker shade of gray behind the eye, leading to charcoal gray uppers, black legs, white chin/chest/belly, charcoal plumage (grays, not at all any semblance of browns) above with darker wings that had white edges, seemed to have a dark bill with lighter-yellow’ish-colored bill edges?, fork in the tail; about the size of a birds we’ve seen such as painted buntings/sparrows/warblers… maybe slightly larger than a yellow-throated warbler, e.g. Not at all the size of a mockingbird or gray catbird, much smaller. The area that this bird was sighted is U.S.A., Wimauma FL 33598, on Jan. 22, 2021; it was seen moving swiftly, ongoing, foraging within low areas of canal-side shrubs, mostly brazillian pepper shrubs. Two images attached; bird was moving so often and swiftly, and 'deeper' within the shrubs... that these 2 are the best images for ID today. Much appreciated.

I have two photos that may help; but, I did not see any 'attach image' function (here) aside from a URL-link button ... I have only 2 jpg's residing on my laptop... please let me know how/where I can submit these 2 images. Much appreciated.
