This was in front of the house, and it's in North America, that was my reason to post here. I don't goto pet stores to really learn parakeet types, but on the web it looks like there are a few varieties of Budgerigar. Is that what we have? Although Monk Parakeets live year round in parts of hudson county in the state, this guy was in a mixed flock of cowbirds / starlings / 1 or 2 grackles. The house sparrow came later. But will it migrate south with the flock as I'm guessing he wont last the winter in NJ? Thank you. I'm still trying to learn what differentiates the Least from the larger Flycatchers besides size.

Pictures Taken August 2020, NJ through a window. I've never had a flycatcher in the backyard which is what makes any help with an ID special. There is a nearby butterfly bush, but nothing else in this suburb of NJ to bring it here except migration. The white chin rules out Yellow-bellied. So would I be able to rule our Least? -- Then can it be narrowed to either Alder/Willow or an Acadian? Thanks

I'm not at a level of confirming shorebirds, as I just had my first Baird's Sandpiper two days ago in NJ. But wow, nice shot! Mine was just too far away. But for these long distance travelers any picture is better than no picture. Who knows if they were in the same area a few days ago and one went down the central plains and the other went east coast. Not too many get down the east coast.

It does have greenish legs, so maybe non-breading Least?

With birders finding a Baird's, Pectoral, White-rumped and Western Sandpiper, I got the confirm on the Baird's and Pectoral. But then I have this sandpiper. It was larger than the Semipalmated Sandpipers. After watching it a good amount of time to take off, I gave up. So is it one of the rare Sandpiper's to the area or am I just hoping? .... I wanted to add more information to my last post.... Thanks so much for the confirm. I found the basin from getting an ebird update. Hope this link helps. It's not an ebird hotspot. It was my first time there. For an industrial park, you never know how much traffic there will be or what to expect. The road was wide enough to park alongside the curb and still have 2 way traffic pass by. Although there was some truck traffic in and out to the warehouses, nothing to worry about, I wouldn't say it was overly busy and it is a nicer newer looking industrial park as opposed to something old and run down. And one driver even came out to see what was going on as there were about 10 or so birders, and he seemed happy with the information we were looking at something rare for our area. New Jersey – Middlesex County – August – I'm just confirming the bird landing is a Semipalmated sandpiper and the one in the water is a least sandpiper. I have a long way to go on shorebird IDs. There were ID white rumped sandpipers too, maybe I got a picture, maybe not. I'm still trying to learn what to look for. But back to this picture, do I have it correct?
