  1. New Jersey – Middlesex County – August – A number of birders were at a retention basin and said these were Baird’s Sandpipers, but as it would be a lifer for me, please confirm I took a picture of the proper sandpiper. Thanks https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/888-barids-sandpiper-1png/&context=new
  2. Amazing. I thought this was going to be a tough one to match. I didn't think of lightening up the picture until looking at an image of the Black-collared Barbet and yes, the black-collar stands out. Wow!!!
  3. Wow. Wasn't thinking starling. Starlings in Zimbabwe are confusing for me. Not enough experience with them, and at the time I was taking the pictures I had no idea about what features to try and look for. Thank you for getting pointed in this direction. I appreciate it.
  4. The bird has a black head with some chestnut on the side above the wing. I hope this is enough to ID. Thanks for the help. https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/787-zimbabwe-black-head-chestnut-sidepng/
  5. Not the best profile shot. Is there enough to ID? I saw this guy on the same day as seeing Red-billed Firefinches, but I would think I'd see the white eye ring, and the back I would think would be more red. Maybe that's what it is. But maybe it's something else? https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/788-zimbabwe-bird-red-head-pic-2png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/789-zimbabwe-bird-read-head-pic-1png/
  6. This is a black bird. I have 2 different birds, but I believe they are the same. My guess is a Fork-tailed Drongo only because I can't find other black birds in Zimbabwe. But I could be missing something. I couldn't really get a nice shot of a red-eye so that is why I'm hesitant and need some ID help. Thanks Pictures 1 & 2 are on bird Pictures 3-5 are the second bird. https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/794-zimbabwe-black-bird-pix-1png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/790-zimbabwe-black-bird-pic-2png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/791-zimbabwe-black-bird-pic-3png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/792-zimbabwe-black-bird-pic-4png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/793-zimbabwe-black-bird-pic-5png/
  7. This bird seems solid black with a long tail. I don't see many solid black birds in ebird in Zimbabwe. My closest guess is a Southern Black-Flycatcher, but not sure. This is the same picture, one is just lightened up a bit. Usually I like sunny days to bring out the color in the pictures, but I think if it was a cloudy day, it might of helped with the ID. https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/796-zimbabwe-black-bird-long-tail-pic-1-light-copypng/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/795-zimbabwe-black-bird-long-tail-pic-1-copypng/
  8. A few more Zimbabwe birds to be listed today. This one I would think should be identifiable. Just not by me. https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/798-white-stripe-on-head-zimbabwe-pic-1png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/797-white-stripe-on-head-zimbabwe-pic-5png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/799-white-stripe-on-head-zimbabwe-pic-2png/ https://forums.whatbird.com/index.php?/gallery/image/801-white-stripe-on-head-zimbabwe-pic-4png/
