[Cooper's Hawk and Squirrel]

I went into the kitchen and looked out the window to see a Cooper's Hawk and a Squirrel at a standoff. There was another squirrel and a cardinal nearby. I am not sure why the hawk didn't attack the squirrel. If you know, let me know.

Here is a Painted Bunting in one of the clay pots I have hanging from a tree. I put some seed inside to attract the small birds.

Is this an immature Coopers Hawk? I have 2 hawks that visit my bird bathsbut usually not at the same time. The one time they were both there, sadly no photo.
