Greater or Lesser Yellowlegs?
Peromyscus replied to Ed hogg's topic in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
I agree with Lesser as well. -
Neither one of us is planning on going right now. The bird is no longer being seen from an easily accessible roadside pool at Chincoteague NWR. Instead, the most recent checklist which has the bird (https://ebird.org/checklist/S110333682), on Saturday, was from an area (the Wash Flats) that you normally have to walk a mile or three to access. Here are the details that accompany the observers' fine photographs. I love the second paragraph:

Over the weekend I passed my last year's species total (which was actually 164). I didn't expect to exceed last year in May. I should be able to hit 175 species without much trouble.

This afternoon, Mississippi Kite at the place where they nested last year (the second known state nesting). This morning, FOY Blackpoll Warbler (finally). Yesterday afternoon, a Red-necked Phalarope discovered that morning, my first in 6 years. Also yesterday afternoon, a calling Least Bittern at a different location.

BRDL 112 πͺΆπ¦π₯π₯ π₯π₯π₯π₯ π₯π¦π¦π¦ π¦π¦π¦π¦ Two openers. Then looking at the list. #3 was a bird I have seen just once, and poorly. #4 was a bird far from annual in my state that I saw just last year in my home county.
