One time many years ago I pulled up to where a field trip leader was telling the group about the different kind of ducks a couple hundred feet or yards away. I, not on the field trip, blurted out "those are decoys!" as only a guileless 20-year-old can.

I'm up to 81 species with Wild Turkey, Common Loon, Red-headed Woodpecker, Winter Wren. The last 3 years that I saw over 200 species I didn't reach 81 until late February or March. Of course, I am usually nowhere this active in January.
