  1. Yes. They are Westerns. Flagstaff is too far west (and too far north in Arizona) for them to be Easterns. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Eastern_Bluebird/maps-range
  2. Apologies, the no eye-ring eliminates Empidonaxes (except Willow, which it isn't). Clearly I still need some ☕
  3. Double-crested Cormorant: Yellow skin in front of the eye American Coot. Both Neotropic and Double-crested Cormorants were reported from Maricopa County (Phoenix's county) yesterday, according to eBird https://ebird.org/region/US-AZ-013?yr=all. As of right now, there are no sightings from today on that list. Neotropic is more common than Double-crested in July.
