On the ABA Rare Bird Alert public Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ABArare/), Joseph Miller talks about how the current Kansas American Flamingo is the same as one of the September 1 Ohio birds, and probably the same as the September 26 Missouri bird.
"I thought it might be of general interest to know that I've been able to confirm that the AMERICAN FLAMINGO seen in Chase Co, KANSAS this week is one of the same birds seen in Warren Co, OHIO back on Sept. 1st and almost certainly the same bird seen in Clay Co, Missouri on Sep 26 through comparing a series of distinctive characteristics (as seen in the graphic below).
It's incredible to think that this bird avoided detection for almost 4 weeks between Ohio and Missouri! I've written up a short article with more details and graphics at the link below."
