  1. Yes, it is a Boat-tailed Grackle. It may seem off because it appears to be molting its tail feathers.
  2. Could somebody help me report the "Eastern Phoebe" photos on this checklist? Should be Eastern Wood-Pewee. Found it while doing a photo quiz. Thanks. https://ebird.org/atlasny/checklist/S118739404?_gl=1*17as759*_ga*NzI1NjU4MDcxLjE2OTIyMTM4MDU.*_ga_QR4NVXZ8BM*MTY5MjQ1OTkwNy43LjAuMTY5MjQ1OTkwNy42MC4wLjA.&_ga=2.110609095.310012181.1692213805-725658071.1692213805
  3. My regional reviewer sets the filter to 0 for Purple Finch during the CBC, because of the amount of inexperienced birders making observations during that time and Purple Finches are also more uncommon in my county than House.
  4. Came back from the trip afternoon of the 15th. I'll finish submitting my checklists and uploading photos soon! I'm also going to add my short daily notes here.
  5. GISS screams yellowlegs, and I agree with Greater.
  6. It's a Savannah, look at the streaking and yellow eyebrow.
  7. None of these, but I do have a pretty backlit photo of Eurasian Goshawk.
  8. Any comments or feedback on this one? It'll take me a bit to find the original, but here is the edited: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/601564001 Haven't edited it much, just cropped it a tiny bit. Higher resolution in link.

  10. https://ebird.org/tripreport/148181 (Day 1) We drove down to JFK airport in NYC with a rental car. Pretty normal road trip birds along the way: Red-winged Blackbird, Turkey Vulture, Rock Pigeon, European Starling, House Sparrow, Red-tailed Hawk. While driving through the city with rush hour traffic, I got an unexpected lifer while at a traffic stop! Flyover Laughing Gull. While waiting to board, I spotted several European Starlings out of the window hopping near the runway. Taking off, I saw New York City illuminated in light and dark storm clouds coming in. The lightning flashes were frequent and ominous, still seen even after we disappeared into clouds.
