@Snake Fingers Thanks! Merlins are a little more uncommon here, but there's still a good possibility. Actually they were basically unheard of in the state a hundred years ago, but they quickly expanded east.

Red-shouldered Hawks are extremely different. Not only are there major structural differences, Sharp-shinned Hawks also have a uniformly dark back and nape, and different colored eye, than Red-shouldered Hawks.

I agree with female type Western Tanager, which shows yellow wash. Note how the bird is leaning over its feet instead of perching upright (the typical posture of flycatchers).

@Birds are cool Either you just copy and paste them, or you can also have a Chinese keyboard add on.
Also, I just want to say I only inserted the Chinese name because that's how I originally knew that species by, and I'm not going to be doing that again.
