  1. We traveled to Portal, Az on the eastern border of Arizona last week. One day we visited a birding house where the yard was full of feeders. We heard a bird singing a loud and complicated song. I thought it was a mocking bird. Wrong. It was a Curve-billed Thrasher. I had no idea this bird had such a complex songbook.
  2. Cave Creek Canyon on the eastern edge of the Chiricahua Mountains right on the Arizona/New Mexico border. Many of the caves in the canyon have pictographs from the native cultures that lived here.
  3. Lilac Breasted Roller, South Africa. It is the national bird of Kenya. Each of the colors represent one of the different tribes in the country.
