    We traveled to Portal, Az on the eastern border of Arizona last week. One day we visited a birding house where the yard was full of feeders. We heard a bird singing a loud and complicated song. I thought it was a mocking bird. Wrong. It was a Curve-billed Thrasher. I had no idea this bird had such a complex songbook.

    Cave Creek Canyon on the eastern edge of the Chiricahua Mountains right on the Arizona/New Mexico border. Many of the caves in the canyon have pictographs from the native cultures that lived here.
