Congratulations.  All 237 in Michigan?  If so you have a great shot to be in the Top 100 at year’s end.

238 now for ABA (Just got Piping Plover) 231 of those are Michigan bird. That's also my goal for the year: to be in the top 100 for the state at the end of the year.

Thanks, I had no idea you'd been there! Or I've forgotten you told me 🤨I'm hoping it will still be fairly active in early July. Hopefully parking won't be a problem at 5AM 😉

And sure, feel free to send along any info you'd like to! It would be appreciated!

I can't find any of my flyers or maps for that area. I'll keep looking but I no clue where I put them. Also I'd agree 5AM parking probably won't be a big problem, just don't get there later than 7 probably.

  3. Parker River NWR is the only place I have experience with. You should be able to get Willet there (I did). The Sparrows: While I didn't fine them (also note back then my birding knowledge was quite limited compared to what it is today, thinking back I could have easily had another 20 species and a couple lifers) The habitat there looks extremely promising. Lovely Salt Marsh there with a nice look out tower at the part I was at. Also note parking could be a problem. We had a lot of trouble trying to find parking there (We were there in June though so maybe things will be different) Best of luck! Hope you find the birds you are looking for! Send us some great photos! Also I grabbed some brochures and maps from there so I can send pictures of those and show you were I went there if you want.

I brush the dust off the lens and use a lens cleaning cloth in circular motions to remove any smudges.

I had bad experiences with this. For me and my sigma contemporary 150-600mm lens it pushed the dust to the sides which I believe is the cause of dust on the internal glass pieces (I got the lens with no dust) I switched over to using a hand-held blower to remove dust and then I used the cloth to wipe smudges off if there are any. Just my thoughts on this...
