  1. I looked at both of those but I thought it had too much black on it's face. More like a white eyebrow.
  2. I caught this woodpecker on a trail cam in eastern WA over the weekend. Is it a Williamson's sapsucker or something else?
  3. Sprry - this is from today on Central Washington
  4. I'm pretty sure this is a golden eagle but before I report it, I wanted a confirmation, please.
  5. If only she would have been a little slower or me a little quicker!
  6. I was going to do the "best photo of the day" but considering it hard to tell what it is! This yellow breasted chat was pretty far out and was hard to find thru the view finder. So here's my yellow breasted chat (trust me). I got rattled by a rattlesnake (also that I didn't see) so I took a pic and ran!
  7. Sage thrashers can be a little hard to find. But I found a pair! I don't know which is which! Maybe dad with lunch?
  8. Mamma wasn't cooperating today! But the owlets were happy to see me!
  9. We've been getting these huge cumulonimbus clouds for the past few days. They look more threatening than they actually are.
  10. I confess to being Gos, Cooper, and sharpie inept! I thought this bird had a longer eyebrow than the usual Cooper's hawk. So after saying that my odds of this being anything other than a cooper are slim! Taken yesterday in Central Washington state.
  11. I didn't get a pretty background, but this merlin was happy to model for me!
  12. Ancient Lakes is a great hunting, fishing and hiking area in Central WA. The views are beautiful and about 15 million years old. Best to go when it's cold - it's rattlesnake and tick central!
  13. I couldn't see what these two were eating but they were sure swallowing!!
  14. My ears are burning! Such language from a bird!
  15. It's been a battle of hummers in my back yard today. This is one of the combatants! The app says it's a calliope - but I'm leaning toward the very common rufous.
  16. I'm not 100% sure what this guy is. My first thought was a female western tanager but it looks a little light for that. Maybe a crossbill? Taken in the eastern foothills of WA. so dry and lots of pine trees. As always thanks in advance for your help!
  17. We don't get them around Seattle. After a visit to Salt Lake City
