  1. You know, I've identified 100's if not 1000's of Dunlins over the years as an International Shorebird Survey leader, but this one just didn't say "Dunlin" to me - perhaps I should apologize for posting such a common bird as an unknown, but I just couldn't see it as that. Especially by itself; I usually see them in clusters or large groups.
  2. Three additional images - sorry but not much better. No sharpen or noise reduction on these.
  3. Yes, Pectoral also should show yellow on the legs. Only one I could find that shows black legs is white-rumped; and of course Dunlin.
  4. Well, that's what I originally thought but what the heck is it then? I've heard from ornithologists on iNat that it's a Dunlin in an alert posture. I'm a mycologist/plant pathologist so what do I know? Well, I know a bit, but I'm not sure about this one. Actually joined here today to get some opinions.
  5. It's migration time on the South Carolina Coast. Seeing lots of Willets, Dowitchers, and other shorebirds but could not put a positive ID on this one. Could not get a photo with more well-defined leg color.
