  1. I believe the camera/lighting is making the beak look slimmer than it really is. I think this is a Summer Tanager.
  2. Yep, they disappear from our neighborhood every year at this time to gather in huge flocks elsewhere. Completely normal.
  3. Seconded. Notice the yellow skin around the eye.
  4. Prairie Warbler with the gray face and dark curved malar stripe, eyeline, and streaks on the side of the breast. EDIT: Connor just beat me to it!
  5. Agree. Note the smaller head in comparison to the body and longer bill than a sparrow.
  6. Goshawks also have wider tail bands. I agree with young Red-tailed.
  7. Welcome to the forum! We might need more info, but I'd guess a sparrow of some sort, like a Song or House Sparrow. Location might help. If you can get a photo, it would help a lot.
  8. That's awesome! I bet it did hear you playing the calls. I think they might respond to humans mimicking their calls as well. You have come to the right place. There are so many knowledgeable people here who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. I have learned so much from this forum, not just by asking questions, but by browsing the threads as well.
  9. I was thinking intersex Mallard for the first one as well. It doesn't look like any domestic breed or mix to me.
  10. Hmm...Sorry, I don't know what it is. I can't tell if it has a robin- or sparrow-like quality.
  11. It won't let me unmute the video for some reason.
  12. Both look like Songs with the long tails.
  13. Quite sure it's a Northern. Dense streaking on the underparts and throat.
