  1. Thrush is a Veery. Lateral throat stripe is too light brown for a Hermit. Great shots!
  2. Ah, spoke too soon. We are now 2nd.
  3. Hey, thanks. I know I haven't posted much lately, but I have been lurking. 🙂
  4. Agree with Am. Redstart and Cape May. The Redstart could very well be a male at this time of year.
  5. I don't want to sound mean, and this photo is good for the equipment you have, but it is average. Solid three stars. Four stars, in my opinion, is for excellent photos with a few minor flaws but are still worthy of printing/publishing.
  6. We tallied 105 species, a new record for us and #1 in our state! Highlights for me were Long-tailed Duck, Bonaparte's Gull, Orchard Oriole, and Wilson's Warbler. https://ebird.org/vt/tripreport/128945
  7. Seeing these little Killdeer yesterday was one of the highlights (no pun intended!) of our Global Big Day trip. They were fairly distant but the rim lighting made them easy to spot. So entertaining to watch them walk around like moving stickers. Thinking of making stickers to remember this moment. 😊
  8. Hard to tell because of the distortion, but I think the "weep" call is a Great Crested Flycatcher. Maybe a House Wren or oriole for the other? Location would be helpful.
  9. Dark-eyed Junco. Remember to included a general location and date.
  10. Yeah, the more I look at it the more confident I am that it is a Common Grackle. Just a bit rusty with grackle ID right now. 🙂
  11. Seems to me to have a big head, big bill, and relatively short tail.
  12. Narrow light brown streaks and obviously graduated tail feathers = Cooper's.
  13. birdie 🦅 #301: 🟥🟥🟩⬛⬛⬛ https://birdiegame.net/
  14. Thanks for doing this! Besides taking forever to find the hotspots, the app crashes every time I end a checklist and never records the end time. I'm still using a notepad and pencil....
